Eating Habits

Your eating habits are an issue that needs to be addressed when trying to lose weight.  There are two formulas you need to keep in mind.

1. MORE FOOD = MORE MUSCLE = LESS FLAB

2. LESS FOOD = LESS MUSCLE = MORE FLAB

We want to concentrate on MORE FOOD = MORE MUSCLE = LESS FLAB.

All I used to hear growing up was making sure you eat three meals a day.  I’m pretty sure you still hear that today.  Eating three meals a day does nothing for your metabolism.  It may actually hurt your metabolism from burning off calories.  So if you think not eating at all will help you lose weight, you are very wrong.  You must eat to lose weight, yes you must eat, but you must eat smart.  I recommend eating six meals a day.

Eating six meals per day will help you sustain energy throughout the day to keep your metabolism burning calories.  When you are only eating three meals or less a day, you are creating an energy imbalance.  Eating six smart meals a day helps to create an energy balance that helps your metabolism burn calories.  Eating six meals a day helps keep you full and satisfied.  You are less likely to over eat at a meal if you eat six meals a day.

Eating habit guidelines to follow.  Alternate your larger meals with smaller snacks.  Eat two of your snacks roughly 2 hours before lunch and dinner, and one snack roughly 2 hours after dinner.  Remember to eat smart to lose weight.
